The Cisco Channelized T1/E1 and ISDN PRI High-Speed WAN Modules combine multiple T1/E1 WAN connectivity-Channelized T1/E1 and ISDN Primary Rate Interface (PRI), in the same card. Applications include fractional or full T1/E1 WAN connectivity, ISDN PRI for primary WAN link or WAN backup, anddial access aggregation. With flexible WAN connectivity options, together with integrated routing, security, voice, and wireless capabilities, the Cisco Integrated Services Routers can meet every need of enterprise-class branch offices today and in the future.

This module supports voice, data, and integrated voice/data applications. For data applications, the VWIC2 provides a single-port WIC for T1, fractional T1, E1 (including structured G 703 with G 704 framing), fractional E1 or unstructured E1 (G 703) with an integrated DSU/CSU.

Serial and asynchronous high-speed WAN interface cards (HWICs) provide highly flexible connections for Cisco 1800, 1900, 2800, 2900, 3800 and 3900 Series Integrated Services Routers. These HWICs help customers to enable applications such as WAN aggregation, legacy protocol transport, console server, and dial access server. Customers can mix and match HWICs to tailor cost-effective solutions for common networking problems such as remote network management, external dial-modem access, low-density WAN aggregation, legacy protocol transport, and high port density support.

The integrated channel service unit/data service unit (CSU/DSU) function allows customers to consolidate customer premises equipment (CPE).The 1- and 2-port Channelized T1/E1 and ISDN PRI HWICs are updated versions of the E1/T1 ISDN PRI network modules, with the same functions and performance in a compact form factor of HWIC. You can save the network module slots for other LAN/WAN connectivity, and your deployment flexibility is greatly enhanced.

The two-port DID voice interface card, VIC-2DID, is a two-port inward dialing voice interface card DID is a service offered by telephone companies that enables callers to dial directly to an extension on a Private Branch Exchange (PBX) or packet voice system. VIC-2DID card will service two analog DID trunks using analog voice or fax It has dual working modes: DID and FXS. Two working modes are mutually exclusive.

FXO ports are used to connect to PBX or key systems, or to provide off-premise connections to PSTN or PTT Supports battery reversal detection and caller ID. These Cisco VICs can be software-configured to work in all countries. Also used to connect to analog CAMA trunk to provide dedicated E-911 service (North America only).

The two-port FXS voice/fax interface card for Cisco voice/fax network modules is used to connect directly to phones and fax machines. This voice interface card works with existing phone and fax equipment to provide voice and fax services over IP and is compatible with H.323 standard for audio and video conferencing.

A Foreign Exchange Station (FXS) interface connects directly to a standard telephone, fax machine, or similar device and supplies ring, voltage, and dial tone. The Cisco FXS interface is an RJ-11 connector that allows connections to basic telephone service equipment, keysets, and private branch exchanges (PBXes).
