The Cisco Nexus 7000 Series Sup2E Module (Figure 2) is based on a two-quad-core Intel Xeon processor with 32 GB of memory that scales the control plane by harnessing the flexibility and power of the two quad cores. With four times the CPU and memory power of the first-generation Cisco Nexus 7000 Series Supervisor1 (Sup1) Module, the Sup2E module offers the highest control-plane performance and scalability of the modules: for example, supporting more VDCs and fabric extenders.
